You've come to the right place for high quality original oil and acrylic paintings inspired by the beauty and grandeur of the Northern Minnesota region.  Karen B. Holden (aka "KBH") is a native Duluth artist who has lived all her life surrounded by the beauty and wonder of one of Naure's most pristine areas.  She tries to capture each season's majesty and color in her representational oils and acrylics, whether in vibrant florals, breathtaking Lake Superior and lakeshore views and serene skies, or in timeless still life paintings.  She frequently explores the Northern Minnnesota region to find and record Nature from a new vantage point. Karen continually tries to learn more about this gorgeous and varied area.

Karen B. Holden's representational artwork has been influenced by Helen Van Wyk, E. John Robinson, Charles Vickery, and the Old Masters, including Rembrandt, Vermeer, Millet, Manet, Caravaggio, and others. She often uses the grisaille method of underpainting her oils with acrylic, but she also works Alla Prima or au Premier Coup in the direct method of painting. Some of Karen B. Holden's landscapes are painted in acrylics. She has exhibited in many venues, and her artwork is  included in many private collections.

Karen B. Holden's artwork is available as shown, some framed, and some are without a frame. Karen's framed original oils, and acrylics have easy to remove bar clips to accomodate changes in decor. All art is ready to hang. The contact form on the Commissions Page allows communication with the artist.
